# cokacremote Desktop Manager

## Scope

cokacremote Desktop Manager is an operator-controlled interface for checking and managing a separately installed upstream cokacremote MCP service on a local Windows or Apple Silicon Mac computer. The server may be exposed through a Cloudflare Quick Tunnel and protected by OAuth. ChatGPT plugin registration and OAuth account approval remain the user's actions.

## Releases and installation limitations

- Windows 10/11: v0.3.0 stable ZIP. Extract all files and review the top-level INSTALL.cmd. Windows SmartScreen may warn.
- Apple Silicon macOS: v0.4.0-rc.2 preview. The prebuilt DMG/ZIP is Apple UNNOTARIZED and may be Gatekeeper-blocked. There is also a source-install tar.gz requiring free Node.js, Rust and Xcode Command Line Tools, Terminal and explicit consent.
- No verified Intel Mac binary. No guarantee of fully unattended fresh-machine installation.
- The computer must remain online and awake to expose its local MCP service.
- Never share OAuth approval keys or privileged logs. Never disable Gatekeeper globally.

## FAQ

Q: Can the app connect ChatGPT without approval?
A: No. Users must register the HTTPS MCP URL if their ChatGPT account allows it and authorize OAuth.

Q: Does converting the Mac DMG to ZIP avoid Gatekeeper?
A: No. The macOS preview is not Apple notarized. An app-specific Apple security exception may be needed for a trusted download.

Q: Is the manager usable when the laptop is powered off?
A: No. The local MCP server and tunnel run on that computer.

Q: Is this an official OpenAI application?
A: No. It is an independent, unofficial open-source desktop management project.
