Space Atlas / Site information

Privacy, analytics and advertising

Space Atlas is an independent space-learning reference. This notice explains data and outside services used by the website. It is not a certification that the site meets every child-privacy or school requirement.

Last reviewed: 28 October 2026. The website is public and normally does not ask visitors to create a student account or submit a name to use its astronomy diagrams.

Website analytics

The site loads Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand page visits and interactions. Google may process device, browser, network and approximate location information and use cookies or similar identifiers. Analytics settings, retention and applicable consent obligations need separate verification; we do not claim analytics are anonymous or that consent was obtained from every visitor.

Advertising

Most educational pages can load Google AdSense advertisements. Google and its partners may process device information and use cookies or related technologies to serve and measure ads. Advertising, including whether it is personalized, can depend on location, account configuration and applicable policies. This privacy page itself contains no ad placement. We do not claim that the learning pages are ad-free or that age-specific ad treatment has been independently verified.

Read how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services and Google's AdSense cookie information.

Third-party educational resources

Some visualizations load code or reference material from external services, including CDN-hosted libraries and linked source websites. Opening an external link transfers browsing activity to that service under its own policies. We cannot control third-party retention or cookies.

Children, families and educators

Space Atlas includes content relevant to school-age learners, including children under 13. Teachers and families should review the presence of GA4, Google AdSense and external resources, and follow school, parent/guardian and local requirements. Direct unsupervised student use is not being recommended while child-directed advertising and data-handling controls are under review. We make no claim of COPPA certification, parental consent or school approval.

Choices and requests

Visitors can adjust browser cookie settings or use browser privacy controls; blocking some third-party requests may affect site features. Google provides account-level ad preferences and related privacy tools. To request clarification or report a privacy issue, use the Space Atlas project issue tracker; do not post a child's personal information in a public issue. For private concerns, ask for a private contact route rather than posting sensitive information publicly.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page when the website's tools or verified data-handling practices change. The presence of a notice alone does not establish child-directed advertising or consent compliance.
